I can't remember the last time I went up Sydney Tower, formerly AMP tower, formerly Centrepoint Tower (and the name I still know it by) - but I suspect it mightn't have been in this millennium. Today, though, it was absolutely gorgeous, and we could see out west all the way to the Blue Mountains of the Great Dividing Range (I love the literalism of Aussie names.) In the foreground lies Darling Harbour, and, if you look closely enough, the familiar clothes-pin hinges of the Anzac Bridge further back from that.
Anyway, the best thing about the Sydney Tower observation deck is that it's round - hence, you can get the most out of your visit by just going around and around as I did - just a few more windows, just a few more windows... until you've spent the better part of your morning up there. I'd also recommend getting some coffee and cake on the deck below, where you can keep soaking up the view with a nice cuppa.
This is My World Tuesday.

This amazing photo was taken by Ang(e), my first very first guest blogger :) She is an ex-student of mine who is also studying education at my alma mater. This gorgeous moment was captured walking out of a lecture on Romance. Nice!My IT helpdesk, sorry, brother-in-law, thinks that it looks like some computer game where the main quad has shot a cannon at the Physics building. Don't pay any attention to him! - I think it's magic :)

Skywatch Friday #3
On the approach to our famous Harbour Bridge, southbound. I kind of liked the idea of just using it as an incidental.

It was a miracle of rare device,Saw Travesties as part of our Sydney Theatre subscription with the girls. The Opera House is magical at night - it looms out of the darkness and hovers over you, ethereally and somewhat spectrally.
A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice!

Happy Australia Day! I can't think of a more appropriate photo in my camera today than this of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Even the $3 toll (going up to $4 in peak hour from tomorrow) can't dim the elation I feel whenever I drive across it.
This picture does make me feel slightly vertiginous, though - like I'm upside down on a rollercoaster or something!
