I love the juxtaposition of this one. And I love rainbows :)

Thursday, 16th July, 2009

Okay, this is a bit surreal, but you know what? I like it :)

Thursday, 9th July, 2009

Here's another one to add to my rainbow collection!

Saturday, 6th June, 2009

If you look carefully into the centre of the cloud, you can see a rainbow. I'm so pleased that I could catch this. Does anyone know how this works?

This is yet another picture of my favourite tree. It has obviously been 'magicked', with help from Picasa3. I took it almost in the pitch black; it was dark by the time I got through the M4 gridlock after leaving school late today. It's quite a dramatic shot. I like it.

Thursday night... clearly, *everyone* is doing their late night shopping.

Um... *what* financial crisis?!

Wednesday, 20th May, 2009

On my way home from work. I liked the reflections of the lights on the wet road. It was tricky trying to capture it, though... had to wait for gaps between cars crossing the intersection in front of me.

This turned out better than expected... the colour of the sky driving to work caught my eye.

Wednesday, 6th May

Gorgeous sky on the way home from work today.

Considering I couldn't see properly, this wasn't too bad a shot, I thought. I had a corneal injury and just pointed & clicked out of a very badly watering eye. (It's okay, I wasn't the one driving.)

Yet another post too late for Skywatch!

Saturday, 25th April, 2009

It's ANZAC Day. My part in the commemoration: a photo of the ANZAC bridge, heading eastbound.

It's an amazing bridge. There's something positively symphonic about crossing it.

Friday, 24th April, 2009 - Skywatch #3

Skywatch Friday #3
On the approach to our famous Harbour Bridge, southbound. I kind of liked the idea of just using it as an incidental.

Apparently there can be good things about being stuck in traffic jams.

This shot reminds me of the painting Nighthawks, by Edward Hopper... just without the people. (I always feel a bit funny about photographing random people on the street.)

Friday, 17th April, 2009

It's just a lamp-post... but I like how it shows off the evening light. I could see this as a sculpture, almost, of a match almost burnt-out, with a last, flickering light...

This would have been a Skywatch post, but I posted it too late again...

Friday, 10th April, 2009

It's usually rainy on Good Fridays, but this year was an exception.

This would have been a Skywatch contribution, but I posted up too late this week.

One of my favourite parts of Sydney: passing under the Bridge on Hickson Road, winding down from the Rocks to the Sydney Theatre.

(The red glow is from a traffic light.)

Wednesday, 18th March, 2009

Ah, but isn't the sky beautiful? It's the colour of a dream.

Sunday, 8th March, 2009

A bit of rain, a wet windshield... DIY impressionist art.

Saturday, 7th March, 2009

I find the Burwood Westfield carpark quite picturesque as far as, well, shopping centre carparks go :)

Thursday, 26th February, 2009

And where is this verdant verge to be found? On the corner of busy four-lane Windsor Road. A moment of beauty while banked up a kilometre or so in traffic.
