Intrepid Kerry on her first climbing experience at Crazy Horse. So proud of you, girl!

The view on the way to climbing. I mean, really, how can this not make you feel good?

I have no idea why I'm smiling in this shot, because I was starting to reach my pain threshhold... It's been AGES since I did a chimney!

Ah, climbing. I love it :)

Tuesday, 6th July, 2010 - My World Tuesday

My physio told me to go climbing. I always thought he was a nice chap! So, after a six month absence - injury-related for me, and baby-based for him - Cameron & I ventured to our old haunt, only to find... butterflies! I don't know what it is, but, while I associate climbing with many things, I just can't find a place for flutter-bys.

Check out other slices of the world @ My World Tuesday.

Although the date is 15th July, I'm posting this much later - over three months, on 23d October. And you know what? It's STILL not better! One stupid move at climbing... note to self: next time, just fall off the wall!!

What is this guy doing?!

- was my first reaction when I had a look at my friend The Gooch's blackberry today.

Here's the news story... and here's the reportage from my man on the scene:

"Frenchman Alain Robert climbs the sails of Renzo Piano designed RBS Tower at Aurora Place on a sunny winter's day. Crowds gathered and were enthralled at this somewhat superhuman feat."

As a rockclimber, all I can say is: no harness, no brains!!

Rockclimbing saves my sanity.

The way to rockclimbing is paved with many... yellow tiles. Passing through Little Portugal in Petersham - home of many tarts (I mean the edible kind, of course) - I run the risk of undoing every good I get by rockclimbing :)

This wasn't quite the plan... I was going to take my camera up to the top of a climb & angle it downwards. But I did some really hard climbs, including an orange! - and promptly forgot. I had more important things in mind (... like not smashing my face against the wall - I've got another wedding to attend this weekend). Anyway, I had to compromise at the end of the session with a shot on the floor angling upwards. Maybe next time!

I don't know why I was so enraptured by letters engraved on chocolate, but I was... nah, I think I was just excited by the chocolate. The perfect pre-climbing food.
