On the day that Julia Gillard announced the date of the next federal election, it seemed right to visit Canberra and check on our pollies. There was a bunch of journalists camped out on the front lawn, but otherwise, all was quiet on this utterly gorgeous day. (Yes, I am guilty of over-using the word 'gorgeous' lately, but if you look at the sky, you'll have to agree that this was entirely justified.)Now all I have to do is work out how to vote on 21st August when I'll be back in Chiang Mai.
