This is a belly... my pregnant sis, about two months out from D-day. Next time I see her, she'll be a mum & I'll be an auntie!

These alien forms are the stiff, whipped peaks of Mum's luscious meringue. Yum!

Mix and match: Cameron compares my paint chips to his kitchen wall.

Settlers of Catan! Mum, Enoch and I battle it out. (I'm red, and the robber is currently blocking my 8. Bah!)

When Mum's away, Dad likes to get creative with his food...

This bizarre little shot comes from the upper storey of Zilver, where we were celebrating my cousin Andrea's graduation.

Mother's Day lunch at Carmel & Terence's. I've always loved this special bowl of theirs & found a way to photograph it today.

It's Easter Sunday. Hmm... a bunch of wine glasses probably isn't the most pious image, is it? Then again, wasn't changing water into wine Jesus' first miracle? ;)

A sumptuous lunch at Andy & Ed's place. (They have matching wine glasses!)

None of us are big drinkers in our family, so when Auntie Millie arrived from overseas, we split half a bottle of dessert wine amongst the nine of us. (As you can see, we didn't even have the requisite number of wine glasses to make a matching set!)

A moment of reflection in Carmel and Terence's kitchen.

Happy 33rd anniversary to Mum & Dad! (Time flies, etc...)

We had a bit of a family do. All the cousins love board games - this is my winning hand in a game of "Take Two".

This is no food blog, but there's nothing wrong with a good, honest, Vietnamese feed. In celebration of Carmel & Terence's moving day.

Would you believe it if I said this was a contemporary art installation? No? Well, you need to get out and see more contemporary art, then :)

It's actually the interior 'before' shot of Carmel and Terence's new place. I think the exhibition's got character, but somehow I think it'll only be temporary.

Freshly made wontons always make me think of childhood, when Mum & I used to sit around the kitchen table, chopsticks in hand, making pork and prawn wontons wrapped in egg pastry with a sliver of egg white as glue. Here Mum shows she definitely still has it.

Carmel and Terence have bought a house! It still needs work, but to me the little garden is so full of character I can hear Samuel Taylor Coleridge's voice in my head... something about "lime tree bowers"...

My mum is a genius! She made up, from scratch, a recipe for Chinese custard tarts - the kind you get at yum cha. She's not quite ready to patent it yet but these are melt-in-the-mouth scrumptious and the pastry flakes crumble beautifully.
